SmartSplit Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to SmartSplit.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the SmartSplit application.

By creating an account or using SmartSplit, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use SmartSplit.

2. About SmartSplit

SmartSplit is an application designed to simplify expense sharing between multiple people.

Among other features, SmartSplit allows users to:

  • Create groups.

  • Record expenses.

  • Automatically calculate balances and settlements.

  • Track payments.

  • Scan receipts.

  • Use the Splitty AI assistant.

  • Manage SmartSplit Premium subscriptions.

SmartSplit is an expense management and calculation tool only.

It is not a financial institution, payment processor, or money transfer service.

3. Eligibility

To use SmartSplit, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old or meet the minimum legal age required in your country.

  • Provide accurate and truthful registration information.

  • Keep your account credentials secure.

  • Not share your login credentials with third parties.

You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account.

4. Permitted Use

You may use SmartSplit to:

  • Manage personal expenses.

  • Organize shared expenses.

  • Create private groups.

  • Register payments.

  • Use Splitty in accordance with these Terms.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use SmartSplit for illegal activities.

  • Attempt to access another user's account.

  • Interfere with or manipulate the operation of the application.

  • Use automated systems or bots to abuse the service.

  • Upload unlawful, fraudulent, offensive, or harmful content.

  • Use Splitty to generate illegal or malicious content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Accuracy of Calculations

SmartSplit automatically calculates balances and settlements based on the information provided by users.

Users are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Expenses are entered correctly.

  • Participants are accurate.

  • Amounts are correct.

SmartSplit cannot guarantee the accuracy of information entered by users.

7. Payments Between Users

SmartSplit does not process or transfer money.

Any payment between participants is solely the responsibility of the users involved.

SmartSplit only provides calculations showing who owes money to whom.

8. Splitty AI Assistant

Splitty is an artificial intelligence assistant designed to help users understand and manage shared expenses.

Responses generated by Splitty:

  • May contain inaccuracies.

  • Do not constitute financial, legal, accounting, or professional advice.

  • Should only be used as general guidance.

You should not rely solely on Splitty when making important financial decisions.

9. SmartSplit Premium

Some features are only available through a SmartSplit Premium subscription.

The specific subscription terms are described in the SmartSplit Premium Subscription Terms.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep SmartSplit available at all times.

However, we may temporarily suspend or interrupt the service due to:

  • Maintenance.

  • Improvements.

  • Technical issues.

  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

11. Intellectual Property

All content within SmartSplit, including but not limited to:

  • The SmartSplit name.

  • Logos.

  • Branding.

  • User interface.

  • Illustrations.

  • Source code.

  • Documentation.

  • Design elements.

is owned by SmartSplit or its respective licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of the application without prior written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SmartSplit shall not be liable for:

  • Financial losses arising from the use of the application.

  • Errors made by users.

  • Disputes between participants.

  • Payments made outside the application.

  • Decisions based on Splitty responses.

  • Temporary interruptions of the service.

13. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms.

  • Abuse the platform.

  • Compromise the security of SmartSplit.

  • Harm other users or the service.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will always indicate the latest version.

Where appropriate, we will notify users of significant changes through the application.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the country where the service provider is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights that may apply under local law.
